Week 5 28th April - 4th May

Sunday 28
Up early to run through sermon and watch MotoGP sprint race. Sprint was crazy with a heap of riders falling off on a track with some wet patches. I rode the bike to church cause I wanted to setup the power point on the TV there. Church went well. I got a cheque for $100 for preaching- interesting. Hope they got value. Peg was at church and we found that she had been sick through the week. Robyn was a little annoyed we did not know. We came home earlier than normal and packed to go to Bunaberg. After leaving once and going back because we had left the pump on it was 12.30pm when we hit the road. Packed including Nala. Had lunch at Dan's Cafe in Wondi and arrived at Jenny-Lee and Bruce about 5. We had a cuppa and a chat and left Dad there and when to stay the night at Maddie and Ro's. It was great to see the house renos. It is looking really good.
Monday 29
We left at the same time as Maddie headed to school. Nala is staying there for the next week. Trip up was uneventful stop at the Benaraby bridge for a coffee at Retro Coffee van. Fuel in Rocky lunch at Flaggy Rock. There was an accident just before Flaggy Rock where a car was on its roof and one lane closed. It did not hold us up. It was great to see Anna. She has setup downstairs for us like an Air bnb. Very nice. We went to Mt P Sushi Train for dinner with Anna Chloe and Micheal Yew who heads back to Brisbane tomorrow. Great to see him. In bed by 9 30 ready for a big yard day tomorrow.
Tuesday 30
Big yard day. When to the doctor first to get a referral for a bowel cancer check. No problem just missed the regular one. Then to Bunnings to hire a ute. $79 for 24hrs. We went to the shed to to get some gardening tools on the way. Looking in good order. The water traps were full. Back at Anna's we mowed and trimmed and filled a very full ute. After dumping the green waste we had lunch and went to Dapplewood Close. It was 2.30 and rained on the way. Tenants are doing well with green waste in the bag so we mowed the grass and rake the normal spot and blew the roof off which was not bad. I will need to replace the roof screw soon they are
showing some rust 30 years on. I pruned the three corner palm pretty heavy. Next visit we will cut it out and the fox tail palm too. Back at Anna's we added some stuff that did not fit in the first load ready to dump in the morning. Tried but happy with our effort.
Wednesday 1
Rain about 40mm last night. At the AJKs green waste the dump face has an to the top of your shoes pool. Wet feet for the morning. Emptied ute and back to Anna's were I washed it out and Robyn when to met with Cerise at Mt P.  I load the general waste load for Anna and when she had finished her teleconference she added some more and we when to Paget dump. Got back in time to put the back bar back on the ute, fuel it up and return in before 10.45am return time. Robyn meet us as Bunnings for morning tea. Anna brought some new hoses to fix a leak in her flixmixer and when we got home we pit them on. Leak is less but not completely gone. See if it takes up. Robyn and I then when to school to update laptops by logging onto school network. We saw Brett and Sherie Ny, Tish and Noeleen, Chris and Mia, Christabell, Charli and Jason. We had seen Toni earlier at Bunnings. And of course the front office ladies which now include Lizzy D. And a heap of kids who were happy to see me.  We went to the shed with about a hour to spend. Found some stuff we want and put some boxes in the van. Still looking for the kitchen scales. Next we went to Laffos to meet people from school who wanted to catch up. There we saw Belinda who organised it. Adele and her kids, Sylvia, Lindy, Michelle W, Cornelie Freda and Emily. We came home Anna was out we made mini pizzas and watch the two epsiode of Renegade Nell and when to bed. Big day.
Thursday 2
Robyn and I both went to visit the school today. Robyn dropped me at Dapplewood Close and i picked up her scooter as my transport today. I first caught up with Jess Rath for coffee and Robyn went to prayer meeting and caught up with people from there. Got lots of hugs. She came home to Anna's for her anti-discrimination commission teleconference. Then when through the boxes we had collected yesterday and found the kitchen scales. I when and saw Tania and sort a trailer rego that was in my name. Had a chat was great. Then I went and saw Nikki in TTC and booked in to do Formula Student in October. I will ride up and drive a car down and back with Warren. Caught up with Affie and Jared. Went to RTLC and saw the team there. Saw Tonia too. Got back to Anna's at 2.30 and at 3.30 went for my first mentoring meeting with Lindy. Anna was meant to fly to Townsville by flight was cancelled while she was in the que so she came home again and we when to the Andergrove Taven for dinner.
Friday 3
Started the day donating blood. Donation 224. Next I caught up with Troy at Maccas. He is struggling to work with the Session. He sounds like he has been seeking more from them than they can give and no compromise is still a problem. Any way it was good to see him. Came back to Anna's for lunch and then to the shed to get tools. I cannot find the reflection books kids gave me at the end of last year and I am a bit sad about that. We restacked some of the boxes and I swapped the scooter for the 500. Next was my catch up with Chris. I was delighted to hear he has started reading RARE leadership. He is enjoying his role as Maths coordinator and the team he cares for. It will be interesting to see how he goes with Year 10 camp. He sounds confident. I must contact him to arrange a debrief. We finished the day with a visit to Mt Jukes Farm for pizza. Annie, Michelle, Emily, Adele and Nikki B joined us and it was a really good night. Good for the heart.
Saturday 4
Last night we recieved a number of videos from Ben about the school open night. Charlie's choir effort was excellent as was Lucy's story about herself.
Today started with a ride to breakfast. Dave Floyland, Aaron and Kyle Watson and Anna and I went. It was great to get out amount the cane fields.  We did the Mt Charlton loop and have breakfast at Zarb's at Mt Ossa. It was great to yarn over breakfast. From there I went to Habana for a cuppa with Will Cassels and his partner Val. While they have stabilised his condition he is not good. He became too breathless to make a cuppa. He had to sit down while Val finished the job. It was good just to yarn and he appreciated my visit. Back to town then over to see Warren. Kerri was home too I had miss understood Warren and she was leaving next Thursday not the one gone. He is struggling at school a bit and showed me one of Deb's long emails that she repeats at devotions on Monday. So he has given up reading it. They were busy setting up they camper to make sure it was ready for their trip. Clearly getting excited about the break. From there I met Robyn back at Dapplewood Close and we got a couple things including a bolt off the wreck that is missing on my bike back at the farm. Next a quick trip to Bunnings where we saw Thomas a teacher from school and Alison who finished up in Events just before we arrived. We got the gear to fix Anna's kitchen leak, some clothes line and box to pit the tools in we are taking home. Back at Anna's we fixed the sink and moved the filing cabinet upstairs into the office. Then back to Dapplewood Close to meet the tenants. They arr looking after the place great and want to renew the lease. I told them the new rent would be 595 a week. Next time I must replace the kitchen gas bottle holder and when we get home ring the plumber about the bathroom shower. Next I when to see Steven Austen and Robyn went to Warren and Kerri's to return tools I borrowed and say g'day. Steven wanted to talk about church struggles and stuff going on at his school. It was good to see him. A busy people day finished with dinner at the Butler's place. Great to see Andy and Christabell. Their house is great and the matching furniture was excellent. Looked really good. They had been really bust before we got there setting it up and packing things into it. There a table chairs and two old style country kitchen cabinets/ hutches. Fitted with the VJ walls of the old cottage very nicely.
Lovely dinner and yarn. Bit tried tonight.
