Farm life 2024

Sunday 26 Charlie and Lucy up at normal time. Charlie had pretty big meltdown but once we waited through it we when on to a really good day. When to the kids church at Goodna. Stopped in at the Green playground on the way home. I had an afternoon nap. Robyn and kids watched the last of the movie. Played a great game with the box from Meridy's out the front of the house with thr neighbours kids. Had homemade pizzas for tea. Kids were a bit slow going to sleep but were asleep when Ben and Nay got home.  Monday 27 Left Ben and Nay's after Nay had taken the kids to school and Ben had gone to work. Stopped for a coffee at Marberg. Good spot. Got some lunch at BP Charlton and home by 12.30pm. Spent the afternoon fixing water trough one was bunged up and the other was running over.  After this Dad and I checked other place tank and rode over the area the cattle have been grazing.   Sunday 19 Quiet day. Ian and Jayne and Nick and Adele left about 10.30am Dad, Robyn and I sat around and read. We made parcels for lunch had an afternoon nap and then went for a drive over the farm to check yesterday cattle who seemed to be fine . We sort fence near the house and let five head in the yard out to graze in there.  Monday 20 Mowed the grass to about 10.30 then we all when to Peg's place for lunch. Kate is there to. After lunch we went fir a drive to show dad Burundown Race course and then came home via Durong and Jandowae. Had to get furl at Burra Burri. One of the five steer we had in the yard has escaped. The other 4 are still a but flighty. Big news the four cows and a calf from up the back paddock came down to the mill. Did not manage to catch them in the mill paddock but I did lock them out of the spring paddock. Getting closer.  Tuesday 21 Pulled ac filter out of the ute. Sunday 12 Check for cattle up the back first thing. Then Church Adam preached. Lunch at Pips &Cherries. Home packed amd got Kate's car out. Left of Ben and Nays about 2pm got there around 5pm. Kate is on her way back to Australia. Monday 13 Up early to pickup Kate then we headed back to the farm. Had some breakfast at Charlton truck stop. Home about 11.30. Went for a drive with Dad. Got close to the cows and calf. Dad has no idea where they are getting water either. Kate was tried but trying to stay awake til normal bedtime. I spent the afternoon spraying the weeds around the gardens, fences, containers and the mill tank. Did about 4 loads in the backpack sprayer. Good piece of equipment.  Tuesday 14 Paid some bills and started April books. Arranged for a bike tyre in Toowoomba to pick up Friday. Quick ride up the back and did not see cattle. Town today. Sunday 5 Repacked the van ready for the trip home. Went to church. It was good to catchup with everyone. It was communion too. After church we went home and changed and got on the road. Robyn and Anna finished the car packing. I was about 15mins ahead of Robyn to start. Fueled at Camilla and had a .snack I pulled out again n. It started drizzling a bit south of Marlbrough and kept it up most of the way to Bundaberg. Stop and fueled aMarmor. Robyn stopped there too. Bit cold from there. Stopped for Robyn to catchup in Miriamvale and followed her into Bundaberg. Arrived at Jenny Lee and Bruce's just after 7pm very wet. Warm shower and fish and chips was great. Good catchup with Greens and Dad after the week. Ride was good Ironbutt prep. Did the trip 636km in 7.5hrs average 84k/hr including stops.  Monday 6 Got up to a slow morning chat and breakfast and left Jenny-Lee and Bruce's about 10am. Sunday 28 Up early to run through sermon and watch MotoGP sprint race. Sprint was crazy with a heap of riders falling off on a track with some wet patches. I rode the bike to church cause I wanted to setup the power point on the TV there. Church went well. I got a cheque for $100 for preaching- interesting. Hope they got value. Peg was at church and we found that she had been sick through the week. Robyn was a little annoyed we did not know. We came home earlier than normal and packed to go to Bunaberg. After leaving once and going back because we had left the pump on it was 12.30pm when we hit the road. Packed including Nala. Had lunch at Dan's Cafe in Wondi and arrived at Jenny-Lee and Bruce about 5. We had a cuppa and a chat and left Dad there and when to stay the night at Maddie and Ro's.
