Farm life 2024

Sunday 25 Church at Cooranga North. Alan was to preach and lead. He was pleased I had come because he had a failing voice so I lead for him. After church we when to lunch at Pips n Cherries back home we had a quiet afternoon. Watched MotoGP Sprint race and stayed up to watch Moto 2 and MotoGP in Silverstone UK very good races. Australian won Moto 2. Brendan OBrien started planting.  Monday 26 Off the Toowoomba early to donate blood. Brought fittings to sort relocating trough to the other place. After lunch we had a go at bringing the weaners in. No luck. So we lifted the tree in the weaner yard off the fence and then installed the trough at the other place. Brendan finished the planting.  Tuesday 27 Before going to Kingaroy this morning 30 of the weaners came in so Robyn and I quickly ran them over the scales and sent them on their way to the sugar drip. Sunday 18 Preached in Bell today from Phil 3 & 4. Press On Imiate and Stand firm. After Robyn cleaned the church with Tracey and Liz B in prep for Trevor Weier's funeral on Tuesday. Rob Farr is going to lead at it. After we went to lunch at Pips n Cherries. Matt call and wanted the scale box back. After watching some WSBK I feed the weaners. Planning to feed two buckets in the morning and 3 at night. For the next few days. Found 2 good bags so far. Robyn and I put them in the diary and then ran the mesh on the laneway fence. Got dark so will finish it tomorrow.  Monday 19 Jandowae today. Nice to be back there. Good day although a bit disorganised had a cover a teacher did no know about. Finished with parade. Home about 3.30. Dad and Robyn had been to doctor in Dalby. Robyn was finishing the laneway fence when I got home. Two cows and a heifer had come down from the back so we put them in with the others. Sunday 11 Went for a quick ride again and shut gates in ready to move cattle. Managed to bring another few head in off the front hill. Lead at Church at Cooranga North. Lachlan King has started on the restumping. After church I went back to Downes' for the afternoon and picked up Robyn and two bails of hay from Matt. When we got home we unloaded the hay. Put one in the rack. Robyn counted Cattle in the yard turns out there is 27 there so with the one that jumped through the fence now in the laneway that is the 28. Good news.  Monday 12 Left home early to go to Toowoomba to donate blood  247 done then I came back to Dalby to do lessons 3&4 at Dalby CC. Got home about 4.15pm the last weaner had jumped the fence in with the cows as Robyn tried to bring her up. I went for a quick ride up the back. Sunday 4 Went to church with Ben and Nay at Ripley ACC. Came home for lunch then started back to the farm. Stoppedxin for a cuppa with Meridy who has not been well. Some flu bug. Stopped at John Drew's place next for a couple of bails of hay home about 6.  Monday 5 When back to John's for two more bales. Back home for breakfast. Fed the weaners then got in the van to pick up dad in Wondi. Met Jenny Lee about 11 we had an early lunch at Dan's Cafe then headed back home. Stopped in Kingaroy to do some shopping. Chemist was open do Dad could get scripts filled and not have to come back this week. Robyn washed. We ran weaners through the crush for a count. 16 Steers and 12 Heifers. 28 total. After this we did some work to try and clear the front half of the hill. Still about 20 head up there. Put grain out for the weaners and let them out as per routine. Sunday 27 Preached at Cooranga North today Small church just 9 today. Josh and Juneeta left while we were away and Jenny Lee came. After church we picked up Jenny Lee from home and went to Pips n Cherries for lunch. After lunch I was the MotoGP sprint race. Then Robyn and I went out on the quads to bring last 4 weaners in the bull paddock with the others. No luck. Try again tomorrow. Watched all of Moto GP in Jerez live. Repaired bike taillight. Found it only needed a new fuse.  Monday 28 Up early and off to Toowoomba to donate blood 246. Jenny Lee and Dad went back to Bundy while I was away. After blood I went and picked up another pair of cargo works pants I had been wearing to school and service kits for buggies. Got home for lunch and Robyn had done the washing. We went and fixed the yards next and set the hay up. Robyn collected the grain troughs and set them up. We will bring the weaners in tomorrow. Amazing how quiet the house is without dad here.
