Farm life 2024

Sunday 22 Rode home from Parkes. Stopped a fair bit to fight off tiredness. Got home about 5pm. Dad was pleased to see us. Between Gundy and Moonie we got a message to say Julie had had an accident at the gun club. A gun had exploded and she had lost her thumb on her left hand. We stopped in Moonie and Robyn had a long chat with Celeste and then her other sisters. She is in the PA hospital awaiting surgery. Other than her thumb she is OK.  Monday 23 Teach in Jandowae, Robyn did the washing and packed for Healthy Churches Facilitator training which we got to at 7.30pm.  Tuesday 24 All at HCF training with Luke. Focus on Focus groups, Truma, and use of AI. Nice to catch up with everyone again.  Wednesday 25 Training finished up at lunch. We went into the PA to see Julie who is in good spirits. Sunday 15 Preached on Obadiah in Bell. Lunch at Pips n Cherries after. 10 for lunch Ben, Nay, Charlie, Lucy, Ian, Paul, Dad, Robyn and I and Peg came over too. Everyone went home from Pips n Cherries. A lovely weekend. Charlie and Lucy did their Easter hunt before church as they won't be up again at Easter and did not want to miss out. We came home for a nap and checked on weaners in the afternoon.  Monday 16 Jandowae today. Better day. Robyn washed. Came home and has a nap. Robyn and Dad had been doing the same. Recovering from a big weekend.  Tuesday 17 Dad and Robyn went to Kingaroy and I went to start boxing at the church. Had a steady day but think I can see what it looks like now. Came home about 3pm and after some time out (still recovering from the weekend) I mowed the grass until I was low on fuel.  Wednesday 18 Robyn went to Dalby and I went to Jandowae. Sunday 8 Woke up to it raining. Went to church in Bell. Dad was not feeling well so he did not come. Church was run by the youth from Kingaroy who had been camping there over the weekend. It was also my induction service as a elder in Bell. Came home after for lunch and watch F1 in Melbourne. Finished the day with some planning for travel to Ironbutt Muster.  Monday 9 Looked like we were off to a good start for the week. I was on my way to Jandowae and Robyn to Kumbia. It had been raining steady all night. I had to wade through to get to Jandowae and Robyn got the van bogged in the yard. Stress came when I found the ute nearly out of fuel and no diesel in Jandowae. JB the principal sent me home at 1pm concerned about rising flood water. I could not get home the normal cause Downfall Creek was over so I went back and through Dalby. Getting fuel on the way. Sunday 1 Church in Bell. ACM after then lunch at Pips n Cherries. Home for a nap and watch MotoGP. Long call with Ben and later with Kate. Cowes have been mysteriously appearing in the laneway. When I checked this afternoon they were in the Bee Paddock crop. Think a few are jumping the fence into the in the creek. So I shut up the camping paddock so they can only come down as far as the dam. See how that works.  Monday 2 School in Jandowae. Tough day these kids are really hard work they do not know how to stop and listen. Finding it hard work.  Robyn went to the church to clean the church ready for Youth Camp thus weekend. When I hot home I moved and setup the spear gate at the mill. Started the other pump. It worked not sure how well it pumped. I went to the otherplace and found 2 of the steers in the crop. Sunday 22 We went to church at PI Baptist Church which was their family service. Something they do once a term. It was good fun. We went from there to the track. The day treaten rain. The SSB came out to wet tyres all but 3 and it did not rain and those three took the podium everyone else had to come back in and change tyres. SBK was wet. Bulleua won again. Think he will be World Champion this year and it is only Round 1. We We t back to our motel and Robyn washed.  Monday 23 We had breakfast and packed and were on the road about 8.30am. First stop was Moroll North at the Strzelecki Bakery. Made the call not to do Dargo this time and headed to Bainsdale for lunch then up to Omeo arriving about 3.00pm. We booked in, unpacked and headed out along the Omeo hwy to see if we could find Darren gel seat that he lost off Kalebs crashed KTM on the way to GP last year.
