Week102 8-14 March CRD16

Sunday 8
Woke up to it raining. Went to church in Bell. Dad was not feeling well so he did not come. Church was run by the youth from Kingaroy who had been camping there over the weekend. It was also my induction service as a elder in Bell. Came home after for lunch and watch F1 in Melbourne. Finished the day with some planning for travel to Ironbutt Muster.
Monday 9
Looked like we were off to a good start for the week. I was on my way to Jandowae and Robyn to Kumbia. It had been raining steady all night. I had to wade through to get to Jandowae and Robyn got the van bogged in the yard. Stress came when I found the ute nearly out of fuel and no diesel in Jandowae. JB the principal sent me home at 1pm concerned about rising flood water. I could not get home the normal cause Downfall Creek was over so I went back and through Dalby. Getting fuel on the way. Ute took 79ltrs. Back home the creek was down. Went for a drive with Dad. Jimbour was flowing too.
Tuesday 10
Went to town. Has lunch early with Neville Asprey and his wife. It was very nice. Had a big shop in prep for the weekend. In the afternoon I put half the pegs in the spear gate and opened the bull paddock.
Wednesday 11
Dalby CC to replace Mildred in English and Hums. Robyn went to Kumbia, Robyn did the washing as we did not do it Monday in the rain or Tuesday with town. Most of the cattle came down to into the Bull paddock. Still 2 cows and a calf up the back.
Thursday  12
DalbyCC again today for Mildred. Picked up 7in1 from Dalby Rural Supplies on the way home. Connection to the trough in Jimbour broken. Dad spotted it and turned water off at the tank so we did not lose the whole tank. Fixed it when I got home.
Friday 13
Spent most if the day working on my sermon. Afternoon came in showery. So we did not get all the prep work done we had hoped for. I did service the yards and open the gates from the other place. Ebony come out for a visit and brought afternoon tea.  Ben and Nay arrived about 7pm. Paul did not come today as Calum and his pregnant partner had been involved in a car accident. Ian arrived about 8.30pm
Saturday 14
Good crowd to muster today. Greg came out and he, Ben, Ian and I mustered the cull cows we got them in and processed by 10am. Paul showed up at morning tea so did Trudy and Ebony. And Hannah a teacher from DalbyCC and her husband Matt came out and helped too. We brought the cattle in from the bull paddock about 11 and had them processed by 2pm we missed 4 cows and 2 calves. That jumped out or did not come down. Lunch was like Christmas dinner. After lunch we put all the cull cows back on the hill behind the dairy, Brought the bull up and put him and the cows back up in bull paddock and the back hill. Then we brought the steers over from the other place and put them in with the weaners before taking them all back to the other place.
