Week 8 19 - 25 May

 Sunday 19

Quiet day. Ian and Jayne and Nick and Adele left about 10.30am Dad, Robyn and I sat around and read. We made parcels for lunch had an afternoon nap and then went for a drive over the farm to check yesterday cattle who seemed to be fine . We sort fence near the house and let five head in the yard out to graze in there. 

Monday 20

Mowed the grass to about 10.30 then we all when to Peg's place for lunch. Kate is there to. After lunch we went fir a drive to show dad Burundown Race course and then came home via Durong and Jandowae. Had to get furl at Burra Burri. One of the five steer we had in the yard has escaped. The other 4 are still a but flighty. Big news the four cows and a calf from up the back paddock came down to the mill. Did not manage to catch them in the mill paddock but I did lock them out of the spring paddock. Getting closer. 

Tuesday 21

Pulled ac filter out of the ute. In good order byt had a lot of mouse dirt in it. Re-routed the rain water pipe around the back for the poly tank at the top house. There was a leaking tap on it so brought a new one in town and replaced in the afternoon. Moved pipe so I can mow to the fence at the top house. Finished the mowing. When to town with Dad. Robyn and Kate did not come. Had lunch with Trevor Aspey. Got home about 3pm. Fitted new fuel container caps I got in town and refitted ac filter in the ute. Robyn, Kate and I when for a ride over the hill. Spotted cowes and calf up near the gate on top. Still in the hill behind the house paddock. Checked the water and put the pump on the tank above dairy. Other place is about half full. Opened the gates so the herds can mix. 

Wednesday 22

Still mice in the ute. Put the bikes away and packed to go to Brisbane. Left about 11.15 and had a great ride down on the 500. Had lunch with Paul W at the Exchange Hotel and then went up to his place for a cuppa. Great to catchup with him. Rode through the Brisbane Valley and arrived at Ben and Nay's about 5.30pm in the dark. Robyn got there in the ute about 3.30pm. Kids pleased to see us. So was Nay. 

Thursday 23

Up at 5 to take Nay to the airport. Then back to a coffee shop to wait for 8am to pick up some bike tyres I had seen on line. 

Almost as soon I drove away I realised they were the wrong size. Robyn got the kids ready for school and dropped them off while i was away. Meet Meridy at the coffee shop near her house. There is a bike tyre shop there too and I dropped off my wheels with the plan to get a set of 90/20 Avon's fitted. After lunch when back to Meridy's and started work on assembling a bed for Rosie. But more complex than a normal bed. Robyn picked up the kids and brought them to Meridy's fir afternoon tea. When I had stuff at a place to leave it we went back to Ben and Nay's for dinner and night routine to get the kids to bed. Say we did OK on Grandparent duty. 

Friday 24

Up early with the kids and off to school. Brought Robyn and I a cuppa at the tuckshop on the way in and now have a rewards card at the Westside Christian Junior Tuckshop. Blood bank next donation 225. Lunch at Brookwater shopping centre and then back to school to pickup kids. Pretty simple day.

Saturday 25

But drizzly today. Basically at home with the kids. Some total tennis and did a little on the ute to address the mice issue bakery supplies for lunch then over to Meridy's to help Rose finish off her bed. Home for tea and a movie night Lucy had planned. Watched 1/2 Sonic the Hedgehog No 2. Finish it tomorrow.

Week 68 13 - 20 July CRD 57 Wk2 Europe.

Sunday 13 Last day of Super Bikes. Better day for Aussies Talya came 7th and Tara 20th WCR and Remi 9th in SBK and Ollie Baylass 13th . His team mate came second again. Met a bloke who was a Jack Miller fan and we yarned between races.  Robyn and Kate had a great day and went to visit Chatsworth House the inspiration for Jane Austin's Pemberly House in Pride and Prejudice. Came back to accomdation at Hartshorne and they were having a Pizza night with live music. Small group about 30 people good fun and good evening. We got out washing done too.  Monday 14 Dried our washing and then headed to York. Thought we would take the non motorway roads but it was not fun just congestion. So we M1ed it. York was amazing. Old buildings very close together. Could spend ages there. We then went open to Thirsk for the night. Visited the Yorkshire Vet building. James Heriot centre was shut. Week 83 26 Oct - 1 Nov CRD84

Sunday 26 Church at Cooranga North. I lead and Allan preached. Then lunch at Pips n Cherries. Robyn got ready to go on calenders trip with Wendy and Maddie I watched some Supercars .Robyn left about 3pm. I adjusted the chain on to 500 before we had a storm. Bit of noise but not much rain for us. Dad and I watched a Clarksons farm before bed.  Monday 27 Relief at Dalby CC today. Cover Exam super and then I cover two year 8 math classes. Robyn had an eventful day on her bike ride. First one of the group fell over while getting the bikes out of the room and and damaged her wrist. Robyn had a dizzy spell after exerting herself moving a tree off the track and Wendy came a cropper when she spotted a snake going through a gateway. They are back in Esk tonight. It was a hot day today with a hot wind. Predicting rain tomorrow. I put on  slow cooker when I came home so we have lunches this week.  Tuesday 28 Dalby CC today. English and Vis Arts exams. Week 69 20-27 July CRD57 W3 Europe

Sunday 20 Started the day with a visit to Kelpies on the North East of Falkirk. These huge art installation of two houses heads represent images of the Scottish mythical beast the Kelpie a water creature that looks like a horse. Very impressive. More driving in the beautiful Scottish countryside to our breakfast spot Tinto Hills Tearooms near Thankerton. Here I met a motorcyclist enjoying a ride and a Sunday morning coffee. Really think I need to come back and ride here. Next we visited Hadrain's wall or the ruins of part of it. It was the Romans Defence line across English to keep the Scots out. Originally 4 metres high what we saw was part of the foundations. The view of the English countryside was picturebook idyllic. Next we went to Lockerbie to see and reflect on the event of the Lockerbie bombing where a bombed PanAm jet literally fell out of the sky in 1988.
