Week 24 8 - 14 September
Sunday 8
Really sick last night. Stayed in bed today. Robyn and Dad went to church. Adam preached. Dad said he could hear him. They went to Pips n Cherries for lunch. The bull, a heifer and the neighbours baldy steer were in the dam paddock. Robyn put them back up the back. Robyn had a long yarn either Kate who is a little unsure of what the future might be at mercy ships after this season. Rang Janelle to tell her I could not do relief on Monday and Tuesday.
Monday 9
Started the day watching the last of the MotoGP. Interesting flag to flag race with splash of rain that started and stopped. Feeling much better today. Robyn cooked a fish meal tuna for lunch today and it was very good. Still had an afternoon nap and then Dad and I went for a drive to open all the gates we could before Glen and Neil and families show up on on the weekend. Did some work on my MEQ assignment Robyn sorted all the washing including sheets. Watched Returning to Paradise an Australian version of Death in Paradise. Looks good.
Tuesday 10
Started the day doing a reference for another MCC team member. Got a great email from another about her great first day in her new job. Finding it a but hard and sad. But reminding myself God has got this. Today I took Dad to town. Not a lot to do. Had lunch at Bunnings for a change. Got home about 3pm. Thought I would have a go at moving the last car at the dairy but made a dumb with the forks on the way down and broke them. Have been in touch with Stuart Smith about making a plan to fix them. Robyn and I went up the back to check fences and see if we can get the cattle out of the spring. Found they are a bull two cows and a steer. The neighbour baldy has joined them. We got them to standing in the open gate and then they went the other way. We had some showers of rain while we were out not much but it was wet. Came home from Kingaroy through some very heavy rain. Refilled mouse baits. Pumping water the mill tanks.
Wednesday 11
Took the rear wheel off the bike to drop in for a new tyre later. Pumped the septic out and packed for Perth. Headed to Trev and Wendy's for a cuppa and dropped Nala off. As we headed off we realised we were probably running a but layer than we wanted so we went straight to the train station at Dinmore and rang Meridy to ask if she could drop the tyre off and pick up the ute. Train trip and transit through Brisbane airport was very smooth. 5 hr flight to Perth. Barclie and Jennette met us at the airport at 9pm Perth time. Great to see them. Got word today David is in hospital with blood poisoning.
Thursday 12
Quite start to the morning. Went to start the car they lent us and battery was flat. So walked round a near by Lake to a coffee shop and back by lunch. Jennette came home and took us to school for the colour run. First time I have seen one and how it works properly. 1 lots of colour and a simple circuit with lots of colour stations the big bottles to blow the colour from are a good investment. Came home to chat and have spag for tea.
Friday 13
Went out and got a new battery of the car and then to breakfast at Surfing Lizard at Coogee Beach. Came back dressed for school and when in and did a couple of man arts lessons. Went down into the old part of Freo for lunch and home. Bill and Judy Corbett joined us for dinner. Lovely night.
Saturday 14
We went to do the tunnels tour at Fremantle Goal. Tunnel with dug by inmates to access water table. You went 15m underground and then through a series of low tunnels walking crouched and then in little boats. Very interesting. On another visit think I would like to do a regular tour. We had lunch in Fremantle a walk from the Goal. Came home for an afternoon nap and then out to a dinner place to see the sun set over the water with Adrian the schools pastoral care leader. Another lovely night.
