Week 25 15 - 21 September
Sunday 15
Went to church with Barclie and Jennette. Then to lunch on our way to Rottnest Island. The island would be nice for a longer stay like a couple of days. Lots of Quokas. We had dinner at a place called the dome on our way home.
Monday 16
Gallograys went off to work. Robyn was feeling a bit fluey so I went to JCS Motorcycles people I often buy mail order bike bits from. On the afternoon I hired a mower and whipper-snipper and mowed the grass. After a dinner of left overs Barclie and Jennette took us to the airport. Flight left Perth at 10.55 and arrived back in Beisbane at 5.30am.
Tuesday 17
We landed in Brisbane about 5.15am. Had maybe 2 hrs sleep. Train to Meridy for breakfast then to Ben and Nay's in the ute. Picked up new bike tyre on the way. Robyn did her teleconference there while I got another hours sleep. Ben was working from home. We had some lunch and then headed home. Picked up Nala on the way and by the time we got to the farm Meridy was here with Matt and Rose. Bud got a tick while we were away and looks pretty sick. When to bed early pretty tried. Robyn's flu has been a little worst over the last 2 days. Hope she is better tomorrow.
Wednesday 18
Started by replacing the starter motor in the 08 red quad. Stuart Smith came out and welding up the tractor forks I had damaged. Next I put the new rear shock in my bike and put the new rear tyre on. This had a snag as I lost the nut from one of the suspension bolts so I had to go to Kingaroy and buy a new one. Matt drove me in to add to his hours. When we got home we went for a drive over the hill on the quads. Robyn and Meridy took Bud to the vet in Bell. They have keep him they and treated him for his tick bite. See how he goes. Robyn did the second day of her teleconference.
Thursday 19
Glen and Neil and families packed up and headed home. Meridy and her family did the same after some lunch. Dad and I checked the cattle. Had to repair the pipe to the top tank. Talked the Noel about church yard. Did some sermon thinking. Ebony came out to stay the night. Trudy came for a yarn too. Fill buggies, ttr and two of the quads.
Friday 20
Rode to Toowoomba to donate blood. I left early and had breakfast at BP at Charlton and called Micheal Paterson. We yarned for about 45 mins before I went to Blood Bank. Got home for lunch. Sorted out flights with Anna so that we sit beside each other on flights to and from Brisbane at the end of the month early next month. Cows were in the wrong place. Turns out the gate at the piggery was left open. Robyn went round and did some fence repair on the paddock to the boundary in front of the house. Harry's cows had been coming through. We then attempted to move the last car but it rolled of the forks and ended up on its roof. Need to sort that tomorrow. Josh (Juanita's partner) his brother and friend showed up about 5.30. They are camping up the hill thus weekend.
Saturday 21
Spent the morning working on message for tomorrow. Then Robyn and I put a wheel back on the car and righted it and towed it up to the top house with the others. We then put 15 head out of the paddock behind the piggery but up the back. Paul and Jill arrived and we had lunch then Paul and I went for a ride over the farm and up the back to repair the fence at the top of the spring. We then made an attempt to put the 5 head that had been in the spring back in with the othe cattle but they all went through the fence and into hill paddock behind the house. So we went and shut gates to keep them in there. There is still at least 3 head behind the piggery.
