We came home had a nap and caught up on Motorcycle racing WSBK and MotoGP. Robyn and I had a go at chasing cattle out of the paddock behind the piggery about another 20 head in there but no luck this time. Watched a Clarkson Farm and WMWC race in which Tayla Relph came 3rd quite exciting. Watch MotoGp and WSBK sprint before bed.
Monday 23
Washing Robyn when up and did a thorough job of bring the cattle out to the paddock behind the piggery. There was a section of fence themst had no tie wire on it but it was still up. We figured they must be getting theough there. We went to the oumther place and met Dad who had spotted the cattle had come in off the hill so we shut the gate and together chased tnem into the cultivation. After hanging another load of washing, Robyn and I fixed the fence on the dam and then checked the fence around the cultivation before opening the gate. While we did this it happened that the three steers from Drew's were there so we put the into the yards paddock. Felt like a bit of a win. Chris cane out to visit. We chatted anmbout the loader and the dizer and fixed the buggy tyre. Had a yarn about moving the container and doing the great central road. Just good to see him. Discovered there was more cattle behind the piggery. Robyn and I when up and chased them out and fixed the fence. Found more in there on the way back then spotted they were coming in through the old dairy. Secures that and put them out again. Hope that fixes the problem.
Tuesday 24
Started with a bit of book work and finally wrote to our compassion children. Put the bikes away. Refilled the mouse baits. Went to town. Turned into a big day. Got a haircut. Shopping and more tiewire.Home by 5pm. When for a look up the back. Inky saw 9 head up there all the rest must be down the front.
Wednesday 25
Robyn went to Wendy's today to help get ready for her Permeculture open day in a couple if weeks. Got up to some cows on the hill behind the house. Found they had pushed through the gate above mill trough. Sorted that out and then went to check fences at the other place. Lost the pliers. Back tracked but could not find them. Sorted out sms security on Dad's accounts and paid the vet. Rode the back paddock and it appears there is not cattle up there so I shut the gate. Sort out the last of the Peg trip accomdation. Confirmed electoral roll registration. Ordered Peg's tank.
Thursday 26
Went into Kingaroy and brought some pliers. Repaired the trough above the dairy. Put 3 head from the hill paddock and three from the back in with the herd. Think that is everything together now. Took some time to learn drone flying today. Pretty happy with progress. Showered a little during the night.
Friday 27
We had 13mm last night. Work on books and complete August. Reconditioned TTR front brake master cyclinder and replaced cluch and front brake switches. When over to the other place and repaired fence from dam to boundry. Found a heifer in hill paddock but we were unable to bring her out. Had another goes with the drone bit it was too windy. Ian and friends Kerry and Ann and they two daughters Eloise and Eve and Eloise's boyfriend Alec showed up about 8.30pm.
Saturday 28
Greg came out. Mustered cattle. It went well except a few went around the yard cause I left the little gate beside the load ramp open. At the end of the day we got every thing in except a cow and calf that went through the fence and charge the quad lan was on. As we mustered it started to rain. We had 5 mm but on top of yesterday it made the yards very muddy and slippery. Made the call to let them go. We held back Harry's cow which has been in our place for about 6 months. It was in the yard with a cow and a steer. Put the cattle back to the back paddock and cultivation they had been in before. Bit disappointed with the outcome but think it was the right call. 14-2 quad bike is having a drive problem after checking you tube I tried to fix it but could not undo the cover to the adjustment nut. Robyn cooked beautiful ham for lunch and we BBQ HPs and sausages for tea. Got news today that Doris Mackay passed away in Mackay.
Watch Moto Gp in Indonesia.
