Week 27 29 Sept - 5 Oct

Sunday 29
Took the TTR for a ride to check fences and location of cattle.  About half up the back and half down the front. found the bottom two wires down on the boundary fence and the heifer on the hill with the other cattle still on the wrong side of the fence. open the gates from the hill to the other place in the hope she might come out. After breakfast Robyn and I went up and fixed the fence and check the fence in the bottom of the spring Paul and I had opened and closed last weekend. We managed to to separate Harry's cow in the yard on to her own. She was picked up while we were at lunch. Visitors packed and left and we went to lunch in Bell with Ian. I head to Brisbane to dropped the ute at Meridy's and catch the train the the airport to fly to Mackay. Anna met me.
Monday 30
This is Formula Highschool race week. Went to devotions at MCC this morning I recieved a very warm reception from students and sttaff. Then worked out with Warren the jobs we needed to do for Formula Highschool.  School want to link my Blue Card since I was volunteering. I gathered some of the stuff for the trip and then I went to meet Ian Fanning for lunch. Came back to Anna's and mowed the grass and when to Dapplewood for a look and changed the damp rid pots. Anna and I went to Mt P Tavern for dinner.
Tuesday 1
Meet Troy for Coffee and went to chiro then back to school to pickup the utes and trailer. The trailer light plug on the ute I drove did not work properly so I took in back to Easy Rental to be repaired. Got back to school at about lunch and we packed the ute. Came about to Anna's and parked the ute and took the bike to meet Lindy. Anna and I had Andergrove Shop roast for tea tonight. Good as ever.
Wednesday 2
Left Mackay at 4.15am from BP City Gates stopped at Waverly Creek and then fuelled at Marmor. Had a long chat to Kate in the section. Next stop was lunch at Childers and fuelled at Travaston Crossing. We arrived at Lakeside at 4.15 and unloaded trailers and cars there. Our accommodation was at Pine Mill Motel. Dinner at the Pub down the road where we saw Jan and Lester, Amanda and Rookie who were down for Trevor Kennedy's funeral tomorrow. Heifer that was on the hill came down into the other place paddock with a calf. Dad and Robyn opened the gates to allow the other cattle to join them and closed the back paddock / Green Grove off.
Thursday 3
Casual start walked down the road to a coffee shop for breakfast. Saw Middelstadt's again one the way back as they had stayed at the same motel. At the track we unloaded the cars. Main project was make sure the cars ran at more than 1 min 52 seconds fast than that we would be penalised. Kids arrived about 12 and were into it. I went and got some bits we had left behind or found we needed. Finsished at the track at 5pm and Michelle and I took the kids back to accommodation on the bus while Warren and Jared stayed for the teacher BBQ.  We stayed at an SDA Campsite which was really good. Julie picked up Robyn and they meet Katrina and Wendy at Kilcoy to go to the funeral. They had a really nice day and catah up with family. It was a special day. The Williams girls were there and they wanted to be remembered to Dad which was very nice for him.
Friday 4
Race day kids had to be at the track at 8am so breakfast at 6. A challenge for the kids. Car ran well all day although one car had a battery issue. I went to donate blood at Strathpine and picked up a new battery on the way home. One car complete 101 laps and the oterh with the battery problem 80 laps. All the kids got good time in the car but would have been happy for more. Packed up and left the track by about 4.30 and had a really good run to Gympie for tonight's stay. Great cause it was the first day of a long weekend.
Saturday 5
Back on the road by 4am stopped at Gin Gin for a coffee, then Mirimanvale for breakfast. Fueled at Marmor, picked up a knee board at Ryle Horwell and Rocky entry and then stopped at Carmilla for coke and toilet arrived back at about 2.30. unloaded and retunred trailers and utes. Then back to Anna's for a shower and out to Mount Dukes Farm for dinner.
