Week 28 6 - 12 October

Sunday 6

Went to church in Mackay this morning. Charge Service today went at 8.30am service not till 9.30 so had a coffee at Gloria Jean's. Service included Communion there was a congregational meeting after which I did not go to. I when home to Anna's and watched Moto3 race on Japan. I when back to the lunch and yarned to people. Caught up with Andre Swartz and Ange in particular. Good to see them. Clearly meeting did not go to Troy's liking. Did not catchup with Steven much. When home and packed washed Anna's bike and watched MotoGP. Warren took Anna and I to the airport. Anna went off to meet Bernii and Meridy picked me up. Stay at her place tonight. Robyn got back ro farm from Wendy's Garden day after 8pm. Had a great day basically working and serving food so Wendy was free to tend her guests. She enjoyed the day. Maddy showed up to surprise them all. Amanda and Rookie showed up to and helped as well. Big day I think. 

Monday 7

Left Meridy's about 9 and picked up Thalia from Tony and Rea's great to see them again. We had lunch in Blackbutt and got home about 3pm. When for a ride with Dad. Lots of new calves. Went to Cooranga North and whippersnipped at the church. Had a call with Leanne and Maurice Coppo. They are coming to visit tomorrow. Watched ep4 of Return to Paradise. 

Tuesday 8

Town today. Put the pump on to the high tank this morning. In town Dad had a hearing appointment and Thalia went to visit Patch's the people she stayed with when she was with Mum at the end.

Got home and Coppo's were here. We yarned and took them for a ride over the hill. Had a big storm in the evening 1/3 filled the tank which was good. Power went on and off a bit and now the security cameras are not working. Have to fix them tomorrow. 

Wednesday 9

Had my last Mentoring Workshop online today. I have completed the course. I fixed the cameras too by deleting them and reading them. There was storms about today and we lost power for about 3hrs. Maurice and Leanne stayed another night. Still pumping water. Put diesel we brought on Tuesday in the tractor. Robyn took Maurice , Leanne and Thalia for a tour of the wind farm and Cooranga North.

Thursday 10

Maurice and Leanne left today. I took Aunty Thalia back to Brisbane and dropped Nala to Wendy's on the way. Thalia and I had lunch with Meridy at her cafe and I drove home. Filled the ute in Maclagan. Robyn had packed our stuff and we headed to Ironpot for the small halls concert. It was a good night. Good performers and good to catchup with locals. We stayed at Pegs place.

Friday 11

Setoff on our Great Ocean Road tour with Peg. Dropped in at home for a few things we had forgotten. Had breakfast on our first visit to Cecil Plains next stop was the Silos in Yelarbon. From there we headed south over the boarder on a gravel track to Yetman. We had a pie for lunch at Bakers Loaf in Warialda. Before a photo stop at Barraba Silos and some more dirt through to Keith and then on to Gunnedah for another silo photo and tonight's stop. 

Saturday 12

Left Gunnedah about 8.30. Our first stop was Quirindi. The silo here includes a light show which starts a 8.30pm so we did not see that bit had morning tea at a quant Cafe. Next we went down to Merriwa through Scone as the road through Little Jack Creek is still closed. This silo was of sheep with red socks. They have a festival in June long weekend which has sheep in red socks parade down the street. Has a busy Bakery Cafe where Peg had a lamb mint pie will try one next time. Next was Dunedoo's silo has three panels and lots of other stuff bit no plaques to tell the story. From here it was a bit of a haul to Cowra for the night. We stopped at an Americian Cafe in Cudal and got a thick shake. Need to go back to this place and have a longer yarn to the owners. Arrived at Cowra about 6.30pm.
