Week 30 20 - 26 October
Sunday 20
Back to MotoGP today. Brought the promised chair on the way from a cheap shop in Cowes. Great day. Jack came 11 but big deal was Senna Agius the Australian came 3rd getting his first podium. Robyn and her mum did some adventuring finding a specular garden place down near Arthur's seat.
Great day and weekend. Slept very well and so pleased i don't have to work on Monday.
Monday 21
Time to move on again. Headed for Mansfield today. Went via Warburton and then along Acheron Way to Narbethong on the way to Marysville for lunch. Great adventure road with about 20k of gravel. From Marysville we took the Eildon -Jamieson Road to Jamieson. Another amazing road winding through the high country. Must come back on the bike and do both of them again. After an icecream and a look around we headed to Mansfield to a cabin at the van park. Great day through the mountains. Downer. Nick Klein rang to say his Dad had passed. He was looking for Dads mobile number as the phone is out. Sad and sad for Dad as he is in Bundaberg waiting for details on his life long friend Charlie Walker's funeral details.
Tuesday 22
Today we had a bigger day in terms of ks as we are our way back to Queensland. We headed out to the Hume and our first stop was Chiltern an old Gold mining town with an historical main street and a great bakery. Next stop was lunch at Wagga Wagga. Fuel at Cootamundra and tonight at Cowra. Different motel. Today was not so much fun. Needed some more planning. Spent a lot of time making food decisions. That said Chiltern was a good find.
Wednesday 23
Had morning tea in Parkes and booked MotoGP tickets over morning tea. Then on to Dubbo where we started our Solar System tour. Which concluded at Siding Springs Observatory. Stayed at Warrambungles motel. Must come back and do the road through the Warrumbungles some day.
Thursday 24
Heading home now. Short day. Morning tea at the Bakery in the main street in Narrabri then lunch at the Cafe at the Gwydir Hot Springs Caravan Park. Need to come back here in winter sometime and try out the spring pools. We arrived at Goondiwindi mid afternoon and caught up with Robyn's cousin Robert Kennedy and her wife Nikki who were on their way to Tamworth with two bull they are training to be rodeo bulls. Stated the night at Caroline and Nathan's place. Nathan and Harry hosted us as Caroline was off to Dalby with Sophie for a swim comp.
Friday 25
Decided to packup and head out this morning stopped at a great bakery in Millmerran for breakfast and then on to Pitsworth to vote and catchup with Katrina and Nathan. Had a cuppa with them and brought milk in Bell before heading to Pegs to drop her off and pickup the ute. The ute smelled like mice again. Annoying. Cleaned it out and headed home. Unpacked and then when to CWA International night. There was about 140 people there. It was great to catchup and meet people. Meet Barri neighbours and had a long yarn with Jacinta O Brien. Her madien name. Dianne Wenham who I went to school with in Dably was there too. She is building a house in Bell. Great to catchup. Meet Brett from across the road too. Joelle must have been there but I am not sure. Did not see her. Nice night think Grandma and mum would have been proud that the work they started continues with a new crew of enthusiastic women keen to build community. Really what Coorange North needs.
Saturday 26
Ben's birthday. We sang him happy birthday. Reset all the mouse baits this morning and we started washing before I went to Goomeri to meet Jenny Lee and pick up Dad. Robyn went to Wendy's to pick up Nala. Robyn washed and put things back in order after being away and I watched MotoGP and Supercars. We are having issues with troughs running over and leaking. Plan to start work on them early Monday. Lots of new calves.
