Week 33 10- 16 November
Sunday 10
We got up and packed our gear for the coming week and loaded the ute with our bags, bike wheel stand and ramps, recycling bottles and tyre for the old ute and one for the disc harrows. Put in Nala and her bed and food too. Went to church at Cooranga North. The youngest O'Brien girl were there. In fact there were 26 people in Church. Adam preached and Peter announced they got 40000 to restump the church. It was a nice time and a joy to be together. After a cuppa we took Nala to Peg's and after a quick stop we headed for Mackay left about 12.07 and arrived at 9.38. Toilet break in Eidsvold, Fod in Biloela, fuel in Rocky and food in Carmilla. Pretty much Google Maps time. Good to see Anna.
Monday 11
Breakfast with Anna, took a coffee to Nikki and went over to the house place looks great but roof needs a clean off. Checked the shed and collected tyres. Went up to the TTC then to change tyres. Took a bit to find all the gear. Michelle made me lunch from TTC BBQ leftovers. Got tyres done and took 10 old tyres away for recycling as payment for facility use. Will need to do house roof another day. We went to dinner at the Andergrove with Anna.
Tuesday 12
Took tyres to Bob Jane to be recycled $92 dollars for the 10. Then dropped the ute at Carlyle for its service. We then went to the house and got the scooter after I dropped off a coffee to Nikki. At 10.30 we went to Chiro. Robyn's first visit and she enjoyed it thinks she will go back. From there we went to lunch and picked up the ute. Degan Martin an ex student served me. Good to have a quick catchup. From there Robyn went for a haircut and I went to Blood Bank. Arrive to a lady out on the floor. It was handled very professional and she was OK. Robyn came after her hair appointment but they will not take her blood until she has a clearance from heart doctor. From here to home then out to celebration night. Format change was good had a bit more of an awards night feel than celebration. Big deal was Keeley Dixon was not school captain. I gave her a big huge she is quality but the competition was strong. Plan to continue to support her through the year. Keeley sees me as a role model. Very good acknowledgement of Karen Curtis but no acknowledgement of other departing staff. Bit of an elephant in the room. The dumping of the Trudy Wallis award was a bit of a bomb too and did not go unnoticed. Time will tell.
Wednesday 13
Big day today. Started with Celebration Morning then caught up with Bevan. Interesting to hear his story and experience of MCC end. Next had lunch with Mark Dreghorn. Great to see him to. He is still busy and has brought a new ute. From there I came home and picked up Robyn and we off to blow the roof off on the house. Anna showed up too and we ended up with a very full of leaves ute. Back to Anna's to shower and to Goosies for catchup and plan to start the LoSoP? Support group. Attendees Annie, Sylvia, Jacob, Warren, Cerise, Andy, Christabell, Lindy, Anna, Ella and Robyn and I. Home and to bed early before another big day tomorrow.
Thursday 14
A busy day as predicted. Started mowing Anna's grass then off to Senior Chapel. Next I had a coffee with Steven and Alan. Then but to Anna's where she came and emptied the ute with me. Pick up Robyn then who had had breakfast with Lynn and Morning tea with Michelle and others on the junior campus. We went to the house pick up the stuff we wanted to take home. Next back to Anna's to move Kate's couch upstairs and Anna's downstairs which in the course of the day she had sold on marketplace. I then went to see Tania and update our computers. But to Anna's to pick up Robyn and we went to see Edna. Lasty we dressed and headed off to grad. It was a very good night. Great bunch of seniors I am very proud of. Home and in bed before midnight. Trip home tomorrow.
Friday 15
We packed the ute and left by 7am and arrived at Ben and Nays by 7.30pm after a full day of driving. Pretty uneventful. Fueled in Sarina and Traverston Crossing. Food at Camlla, Parkhurst Rocky, Borronan for coffee and donuts, Gin Gin bakery.
Saturday 16
Lucy's birthday party. Had breakfast and headed to the park. Al and Kim arrived at Ben and Nays as we left so Al came with us. Nice party. I spent most of the time chatting to Al. Came home to lunch and afternoon nap. Charles and Lucy were ready for bed early. So was I.
