Week 40 29 Dec - 4 Jan

Sunday 29
No church today. Ian went into Dalby. People started to showup for the muster. Nick and Van came first. Jayne arrived after lunch and James, Sam, Bowie, and Belle arrive in the evening. Ian's friend, Ash and a family friend who thinks she would like to work in cattle industry Monique came too. I set the gates and checked but cattle are right over to Jimbour Creek.
Monday 30
We got all the cattle in before breakfast and dropped out a bull. We had Jack, Nick, James and Ash on quads. Ian and Monique in the buggy and I rode the TTR.
Process the calves 62 and treated 3 pink eye. 2 retreats and one new one. We were done by 11.30am new record. After lunch James and Sam and Jack and Izzy went home and Trudy and Ebony showed up.. Robyn, Nic and I put the market cattle out in of the bull paddock. It started to storm about 3pm lot of thunder and lightening. I pumped rain water up to fill tanks. Dud not rain a lot about 35mm but a lot of rain in Kingaroy and toward Dalby that cut roads for a whole. Pretty happy we got muster done when we did and we found tagged and branded the missing heifer from earlier in the year.
Tuesday 31
Nick and Van went home early. Chris piked on going for a ride so Ian and Jayne took Greg's quad bike back to Kingaroy. Dad went with them and they had lunch there and Robyn and I took Bill and Julie's van back and had lunch and did some shopping in Dalby. Came home to a quiet afternoon. Started pumping water to fill cattle tanks. Took a ride around the farm. Cows had found their way to the very back. Got a gas bottle in Bell for BBQ but we had left over instead of BBQing.
Wednesday 1 New Year's Day
Went for a ride around the farm. Noticed a steer up the back that was a bit stiff. There is a dead smell too but could not see anything or any crows. When for a lap of the wind farm with Ian on the bikes. Came back with an exhaust issue. Ian and Jayne left. Pumped water so all the tanks are full. Put gates on one side of the trough paddock at the mill. Mowed the grass around the house. Loaded the bike on the ute and packed on Ben and Nays outdoor lounge ready to leave in the morning. Raining a bit. Very stormy for a good while. We had 17mm.
Thursday 2
Packed up and left for Vrisbane about 5.30am. Picked up gifts for Mercy Ship people from Kate and Dropped off gifts for Kate to Deb another MS person. Went to Ben and Nay's. I went on to Blood Bank at Ipswich. Ben brought some muffler repair stuff and we had a go at fixing it. Arrived at Tambourine Mountain just after 6pm to Kim and Sandi's place. Very nice. Excited about sharing it with Alan and Judy and Phil and Sarah.
Friday 3
We rode down to Canungra to have breakfast with Stu at the Outpost Cafe. Got caught in the rain on the way back. Bike does not sound that good still. Went out in tge ute and brought food and check out summer school arrangement. Alan and Judy and Sarah and Phil showed up about 3pm. After a cuppa yarn and dinner we when to the first night. Good to be here with friends. Saw Gary Millar for a few minutes too.
Saturday 4
First day of summer school. William Taylor came and introduced himself to me. Very special moment. Seems like the good bloke who would expect. He spoke from Luke 17. His main point was that Luke was an historian this it is fact about things that happened. We came home for lunch, which was nice and I had an afternoon nap. While others watched the cricket. Phil and I went back to the evening session after tea. Dave went out to the farm to visit Dad. Juneeta and Josh are out there.
