Week 42 12 - 18 January
Sunday 12
Adam preached at Cooranga North. People yarned for a long time after to nearly 12.30. Came home had lunch with Dad and a nap then drove to Brisbane to pick up Robyn. Rained at the airport which was a little annoying. We got home just after 10pm. Very nice to have Robyn home.
Monday 13
Washing done. Aaron and Debbie Watson came to visit and dropped off the pipes for my bike. After lunch we went to Peg's and picked up Nala and installed her Starlink. It works but I am not happy with the install. Will work on that again. Saw Matt and he has had covid but he does have his trusses up. Still needs to strap and finish verandah rooves. Offered to go back next week.
Tuesday 14
On Sunday night Sue and Greg had their house damaged in a storm that went through Kingaroy. Ian came up to give them a generator. It was town day and I booked the car in for new tyres and a wheel alignment. We meet Ian at the tyre place and then we did the shopping and had lunch in the mall. Robyn took in the sleep machine card and with the help of Blooms in the mall got the data printout for dad's appointment next Tuesday. Ian dropped us back to the car and we got home about 2.30pm. Robyn and I took the Merry Christmas banner and lights down at the gate. Saw Ken for a few minutes. He is coming up for lunch on Thursday. Watched the catchup of Heartbeat cause dad told us it was a good episode.
Wednesday 15
Left early for Dalby to have blood tests in prep for well man check up on Friday. Took the ute because there was storms about and it did not rain but sure it would have if I was on the bike. Spent most of the rest of the day in the office. Paying bills sorting emails and finishing books for 2024. Started work on my message for Sunday too. Rode around the sale cattle. All good. Had the most amazing electrical storm at night. Not much rain but massive thunder and lighting.
Thursday 16
Spent the morning working on my sermon for Sunday. Check rain gauges with Dad -9mm. Put new exhaust on my bike. Still not right but I will ride it to Toowoomba tomorrow see how it goes. Ken Hopper came to lunch. It was good to see him. Drew up bar end spacer I lost and sent it to Ben to see if he can print me a new one.
Friday 17
Today turned into one of those bigger than expected. Started riding the Explorer to Toowoomba to donate blood. Picked up another spring for the mower at RDO, breakfast and then back to Dalby for doctors appointment. Need to work on the doctors stuff. They don't do well man check stuff here did not really know how to make it work. I ended up with a health assessment which I got bulked billed it included an ECG and normal blood test but no urine test and no skin check. My cholesterol was up but otherwise OK. Well work on that and weight and exercise going forward. Dad had an appointment too. He gave Anne one of Jenny Lee's pottery pieces and she loved it. Very nice. Bike was not well but running OK but not sounding good at idle etc. So after lunch I rode it to Yarraman and the mechanic pick it was sucking air straight away. The throttle bodies were on sealing to the block. He was not happy that combining to ride would not damage it so he offered me his loaner a Triumph Thunderbird to get home. I contacted the bike shop in Perth I had ordered exhaust gasket from and they had new transition pieces which I ordered too. Hope we get them next week. Watch S1E1 of a series suggest by Phil and Sarah Annikia.
Saturday 18
Mowed the grass. The old ute had a flat battery so Robyn and I towed it with the tractor so we could put the battery charger on it. After lunch I fixed the back screen door. Replaced the sliding door track to kitchen door and moved the towel rack in the bathroom. Bruce and Jenny Lee arrived. Robyn and I went down and fixed the flag pole so it did not rattle. I took the mower down and mowed the gateway. Paul and Jill came for afternoon tea on their way back from Dalby where they had been for a Yourh and Children ministry training day. I did mouse baits today and we started the pump to refill the tanks.
