Week 50 March 9-15 CRD10
Sunday 9
Left Chinchilla about 6.30am and rode home. Showers looked to be increasing by the Jandowae turn off so I stopped and put on my wets. Home for breakfast and a yarn with Kate before church. Adam preached at Cooranga North and then to lunch at Pips n Cherries. Nice to take Anna with us. Home for a nap and then I did the mouse baits most of which were empty in the week. Made Anna a bait holder too. Too calves were still in the bull paddock so we chased them out. Put pump on to fill tank at the mill.
Monday 10
Mill tank was running over and turned the tap to tank behind the dairy. Forgot to tell Robyn to check it through the day. It was running over by the time I came home from school. Bell today Naplan practice yr7 woodwork and 9/10 Science. Came home to a cuppa and a yarn but was smashed. Did some bookwork. Anna left today and made good time to be home in Mackay by 7pm. Robyn rang Phil about picking up cattle and he suggested that we don't sell this week because there will be no buyer as a result of the cyclone disruption last week. Matt confirmed and Ian agreed so we have stock another week. There has been some post cyclone rain and flooding about tonight the Locker Creek has cut the Warrego hot and Aratula had big rain and the Cunningham hwy is cut there. Harvey Bay got 10inch in an hour yesterday. Ben has had 460mm and the Bremer has peaked just below major flood level. We have has about 3mm and 10mm up the back. Storms about not here.
Tuesday 11
School in Bell today. Rain on and off there but I got there and back without getting wet. Had Year 9/10 woodwork and Science and then Year 7 science. 9/10 is a real challenge I just cannot engage 4 out of the 6 at all. On the other hand year 7 are great. Stayed for staff meeting. Bell has a pretty good team. Need to work harder on their names. No real rain at home. 10mm in the gauge up the back. Rode around the cows and calves in the afternoon. One big mob at the entry to the spring and one on top of the hill near Drew's and the containers. A few over the spring.
Wednesday 12
Bell relief today and 10days this term. After school I changed the has bottle Robyn went over to her mums in prep for Probus trip. I got spray tank and while it needs new wire it does work. It will fit neatly on the back of a quad bike. Redid mouse baits used 19 blocks in 3 days.
Thursday 13
Robyn off on Probus trip with her mum and Julie. Did the books to the end of Feb and looked at sermon for Sunday week. Spent the rest of the day on Explorer1 removed headlight and replaced light bulbs and driving lights switch. Did not getcit completely back together before dark. Zach and friend Josh came up late. Juneeta Husband Kosh and his kids should be up tomorrow. They are camping up the hill.
Friday 14
Went to Toowoomba to donate blood then back to Dalby to meet Dad and Robyn. Dad had a doctors appointment. Back to Pips n Cherries for lunch. Left Dad's watch at the watchmakers will pick it up next Thursday. Harry had another blast we went to watch. It was a beauty. The Josh is not Juneeta's Josh but a friend of Zach. His wife and and Louise and their 3 kids and Cole and Robbie were here when we got home from town. Here for the weekend. Zach found a heifer that had prolapsed calving. Calf was dead and heifer had to be shot.
Saturday 15
Finished off bike fitting Ben's 3D prints to the hand protectors. Fit fitting Quad lock phone holder. Repair flat tyre on the 500. Turned on pump to fill tanks. Zach Lousie and family and friends left about 12pm. Micheal came over to sort tractor ready to be picked up on a tilt tray. Spotted a dead calf in one of the cultivation paddocks. Not sure why or how it got there. Setup spray unit on back of one of the quads. Robyn sorted tools and stuff in the back of Dad's buggy.
