Week 88 30 Nov -6 Dec CRD98

Sunday 30
Bill and I went out and hooked up trough and then fixed fence near double gate into middle back paddock. Back for morning tea. Watched Top 10 shoot out in Supercars then lunch at Pips n Cherries. Bill and Judy went home from there. I watched start of last Supercars race for 2025 and pack and we headed to Ben and Nay's. Stopped in at Meridy's on the way for tea and helped Ben with some jobs there. Matt was prepong to go camping at Somerset. Got to Ben and Nay's about 8.30pm
Monday 1
Repaired Ben and Nay's roof. It was leaking around a solar vent fan that had been poorly installed. Removed it and flashed it properly. We had it done for lunch and left after lunch dropped Kate's Christmas Gift to someone on Mitchelton then headed to Blood Bank on Toowoomba for 4pm appointment. Got home about 7.45pm.
Tuesday 2
Did the bookwork this morning and met with Anna in her finance meeting. Came away from it a little distressed as we faced some of the difficult challenges. Robyn started the washing. We had to wait for the cleaner before we could head to town. The first stop was Bell in the other direction to get a JP Tom to sign a statement Dec to say Dad had lost his hearing aids. Then we went to Kingaroy just in time for lunch then to Dad's hearing appointment. IGA to drop and then home. Big day. When we got home I took the tractor and offset discs and ploughed the improved pasture paddock near Harry's. It had die back last summer and I am attempting to refresh it.
Wednesday 3
Dalby CC for probably my last day this year. Activities day. Year 11s ran activities for 2 morning sessions and then we had the P -3 school musical. Day finished with a trip to the pool. Good day. Home for a cuppa and then put the spreader on the tractor and filled it with millet seed and spread ot over yesterdsys ploughing.
Thursday 4
Start by harrowing the millet I spread yesterday. Next Dad and I went up the back and had a look at the spring improved pasture. Decided to let the cattle in on it and then slash it in a couple of weeks. Robyn and put some of the old cows in the yard and then brought the steers and the heifer over from the other place. We put three old cows and one calf other with the others put the heifer out with the cows. We checked the fence at on the spring improved pasture paddock and opened the fence to the middle spring paddock so the cattle cab access it. Finished the day shaving Bud.
Friday 5
Checked and cows had found the paddock we opened up yesterday. Found the trough about the dairy had been running over so I had to pump water into the tank yesterday. Went over to Peg's and hooked up the water tank. We put a new sign up at tge Cooranga North church on the way home. Trough was still running over so I serviced the float. See how it goes. Mowed the grass until dark.
Saturday 6
Started the day with men's breakfast in Bell. Turned pump back on to pump water to the tank behind the dairy. Later i changed it to the top tank. Found another old cow has come down for a drink so we drafted her to the cill cows paddock. So that is 16 cull cows. Took the mower to the front gate and mowed down that and put up Christmas sign and lights. It appears on checking later only one set works. Finished mowing house yard too. Check on cattle up the back. Most of the herd has gone into the new paddock.
