Week 91 21-27 December
Sunday 21
Checked over farm. Micheal has planted most of his cultivation will do his today and hopefully outs too. Church in Bell. Home for lunch and a nap. Robyn and I took the post hole digger off the tractor and brought up a container to put millet in when we sort the container. Went into the Carol service in Bell. It was at the Catholic church this year.
Monday 22
Started work on the cover at the front of the house pretty hot day today. We basically removed the current trap and the bent pipe work and we removed the gardens of red hot poker cactus. In the afternoon Meridy arrived snd I took a run into Kingaroy to pick up some repeats on Dad's medication. Sadly Dad's doctor rang to cancel his appointment because she was sick. Trough in lane near the mill was running over this morning. Fixed it this afternoon. Anna got away from Mackay late this afternoon. Peg is not well. Wendy took her to Dalby Hospital where after several hours she was admitted. When they packed they left her medication and toothbrush behind so Robyn went over and collected them and took them in. She did not get home until 2.30am.
Tuesday 23
We did a little bit more on the patio but spent the morning chatting with Meridy. After she and Dad left about 11am we got sorted and went the Dalby to shop and I got a hair cut. We dropped in on Peg on the way home. We were their when the doctor came. They are keeping her in because her kidney function is low. She has a infection from the skin condition on her legs. Messing with her Christmas a bit.
Anna made it to Port Macquarie.
Wednesday 24
Robyn had the busy day today. She went to Werona again and pick up Peg's Christmas gifts and stuff for Peg and then went to Dalby. On the way word came they are transferring Peg to Toowoomba. Her blood tests are showing a infection in her blood. Robyn and Julie were there to see her off. Robyn got home just before Anna arrived. I did some more on the patio roof but after lunch had a long yarn with Steve Downes. It started raining as we went to leave for Christmas Eve service. And again on the way home. Service went well and there was a good sized group of people there. About 30-40 I guess. Supper room was very noisy with lots of yarning afterwards.
Thursday 25 Christmas day
We got 23mm rain. We had a steady start. Breakfast, talk to Ben and Nay and Kids and Kate. Then opened presents. Was a couple of hours of food prep Robyn did not get done yesterday. We arrived at Trev and Wendy's about 2pm for lunch. Nice grazing afternoon. Got in to visit Peg about 7pm she was bright. Katrina and Nathan and boys arrived while we were there. Nice to see them. We got home bout 10.30pm.
Friday 26
Started the day working on message for Sunday. The other project for today was to finish the patio roof. Pumped water as well. I have worked out that the pump is most efficient for the first 2hrs. So I will pump for 2 hrs at a time. Took Anna for a quad ride to the otherplace and to the spring to check water and cattle. Peg still in Hospital.
Saturday 27
More message work and then we hook up the slasher and went and slashed paddock at the spring. Robyn and Anna fixed the fence and move the bigger of the rocks. Ian brought Dad home. Anna moved to the bunk room to be the first to sleep in the new bed.
