Week 94 11 - 17 January

Sunday 11
Went to church this morning at Mackay. Only 9 people there because of the cyclone. Not so much rain in town but a lot upbthe valley. Flooding in the Valley. Emily Clifford's place had water through it. Had fish and chips for lunch and a quiet rest day. Started some research for my next sermon series. Anna is at Ben and Nays.
Monday 12
Finished pulling up pavers. Showed some people through the house potential renters Donated blood and picked up mini excavator. Anna started at QUT masters and Ben and Nay on holiday with Kim and Al.
Tuesday 13
Started on mini excavator. It was clear ot was not the tool for the job and I was not much of a driver. Mark Dreghorn came over and he ran a bobcat operator which turned out the be Dave Zammit. Best operator in Mackay with the wet weather he could come Thursday or Friday. Used excavator and string line to dig a line at the level I was aiming for. Took up most of the concrete edge.
Wednesday 14
Got a call at 6.30 to say bobcat operator and truck would be there at 7am today. ?? Was the operator he had kids that went through MCC. Robyn remembered them. Was a nice connection and he was very good. By 1pm he had the levels sorted. Two loads taken away and crusher dust in place. We finished the day digging stormwater trench from through carport about half done. We picked up brick saw and compacting plate from school. On the way home we dumped concrete edging and picked up stormwater pipe from bunnings.
Thursday 15
Woke up to it rain pretty steady most of the night. Got to house at 8am to let the smoke alarm people in. Worked on the stormwater trench dug and placed pipe and back filled. Cleaned out scrub section to allow water flow and loaded excavator. Anna is back in Port Macquarie to pickup Chloe and Dad went to town today.
Friday 16
Today it felt like at last we have started construction. We filled and rammed stormwater line and relaid pavers in the carport. We returned the digger and picked up a battery for Anna's bike. Been watching our way through Brokenwood. Had a message from possible police renters from Gold Coast. They are going to come visit tomorrow. Contacted JB today and told him I will not make student free days.
Saturday 17
Screeded out visitor parking area and compacted it. We are trying cement powder in the crusher dust between compacting. By 5pm we got the area laid. Big day but good progress. We went to Andergrove taven for dinner then home to bed fir a big nights sleep.
